Lillies in the landscape - Scenes From My Garden

"Gardening is the art that uses flowers and plants as paint, and the soil and sky as canvas."
-Elizabeth Murray

I thought I'd post some flower scenes from my garden. This beautiful gem is perhap's one of the most famous of all lilies.....the "STARGAZER". An extremely fragrant and hardy oriental lily.

This year marks our 5th year here in Creston and on this property! Each year I ordered a new variety of lily to add to the landscape, below, are just a few more of these precious gems.

This tall & elegant lady is called "TRIUMPHATOR". A white lily with a cherry red throat and spicy fragrance. A longiflorum lily...prized for their fragrance and stability, a great cut flower.

And one more for today. This delightful, bright yellow lily is called "DAZZLE".
And she does just that! Adding touches of yellow to your flower garden, is like a ray of sunshine welcoming you and your guests each and every day as you stroll along your flower beds.

"Show me your garden and I shall tell you what you are." -Alfred Austin

Now....back to painting! I have just finished two small paintings, taken them in for framing and will post them here as soon as I receive them back.

Have a great week!

On The Easel - New Painting with Roses

"The flow of water and paint can be uncontrollable and crazy, but it is also freedom, an escape, therapy, joy, and, oh yes, very sensuous!" -Angela Lynch

Where has July gone?! Since returning from my brief fishing trip, it's been a struggle trying to squeeze in some painting time. Having caught up with some of the house cleaning & yardwork....not to mention taking time out to enjoy the weather & the glorious flower beds...I have finally forced myself to focus on completing this painting.

So far...more glazes of color have been added to the table. Have started to deepen the colors on the roses. This is most noticeable on the blossom to the right of the center rose. And have added more color to the leaves....starting to shade and deepen these also.

More updates coming soon.......
