Teacup With Geraniums, The Last In The Teacup Series By Laura Leeder

"My paintings are my camera on my world."  ~Jane Freeman

As I was packing up the teacups to return to the Creston Museum, this one begged me to paint it.  I had just purchased several geranium plants on sale and thought a simple cluster of these white and lilac petals would be perfect with this teacup.
The teacup itself is a pretty shade of yellow with a delicate floral pattern of soft pinks, yellows and lilac.
This will then be the last one in this teacup series.  It may take a while to finish, as I've promised to spend much of my time with my husband boating and fishing.

Summer Time Is "Plein Air" Painting Time

Then followed that beautiful season... Summer....

Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.

Summer is here and that means spending time outdoors, soaking up the sun, and enjoying all that mother nature has to offer.
I am not a "plein air" painter, my highly detailed watercolor paintings are more suitable to painting indoors in the studio, where I have some control over my surroundings.
Having said that, I am going to try and paint more outdoors this summer.  I will paint small practise sketches of items etc.  and see where it takes me.
I'm off to play for the weekend........have a great week,
          Happy Canada Day!
